Godine 1969. mladi Džad Krendal sanja da napusti svoj rodni grad Ladlou u državi Mejn, ali ubrzo otkriva zlokobne tajne zakopane u njemu i primoran je da se suoči sa mračnom porodičnom istorijom koja će ga zauvek održavati povezanim sa Ladlouom.
